Another Small Update….

January 5, 2008

So i have really gotten this podcast ball rolling. I have alreday decided on what equipment I am going to use even althogh, i just need to buy it. After doing a lot of research, I plan to get a condenser microphone of some sort along with a Behringer Eurorack UB802 Mixer. I was a little weirded out about the mixer becasue I didnt think there was a point to it. The only thing I havent decided on was to get a digital recorder. It seems to be the best way to record from the mixer, but I dont want to spend the money. On the other hand, I have 7 fans running in my computer.

The general setup is like this. The show is called 3 n’ 30. Why that you ask? I will be covering 3 different topics in either Technology, General news/topics and BMX in 30 minutes or less (including breaks, intros, etc…). I wan tto provide something enjoyable to listen to that is funny, yet the listener will get something from. So, with only about 10 minutes on each topic, the point is reached easily.

Stay tunned for more updats, maybe even the first podcast……..

Small Update….

January 5, 2008

So its been awhile since the last post and I relived that typing isn’t my thing. Sure I can do it really fast but I need my voice to be heard. So, starting real soon, I’m going to be doing a podcast. My first venture will be just reading the stories in a local BMX magazine Th’ Link. See how well that goes, then wondering into videos for tech DIY’s. I figured podcast first because 1)Mics are cheap 2)Less of a headache to edit and 3)because I want to. So look for my first podcast on iTunes(Boo!), here and other places as well.

err…

December 17, 2007

Yes, that is the stack of money I have brought to Vegas. I plan not to spend it all thought, but we’ll see how that goes. Anyways, the first day has been good. We (the group) didn’t get into the hotel until about 2. We passed time by making my first sports bet, and just walking around the Rio. After we got situated in our room, we went to Caesars to meet up with some people we knew to say hi. Kind of a waste of time, but I really wanted to go to Caesars. I was simply amazed how awesome this place is. Got a few a pictures…..

The only thing of booze I have had today is a 48 ounce Slurpee with gin. It was good, but goddamn it was a fruity drink. Well, I will leave you with one more picture, otherwise………later.

My Tilt Vid and is Google in the air?

December 15, 2007
Here is the video with my first thoughts on my Tilt. Sorry, it may a bit boaring and I say “um” a lot, but this is only the first. Sometime in the new year, I’ll have an orginized review on the device with what I loaded on it and different things. Oh, and my nail, yeah my thumb got shoved in a very fast and powerful fan. Ouch.

How much would pay for something that isn’t really an item or service, but just waves in the air we breathe? One dollar, five or even a few billion? The wireless spectrum of 700mhz is up for bid in the new year. What this means is that the winner, whether it be a wireless provider or not, get a piece of the very limited frequency band to to what they please. But, if Goolge were to snag it up, they have a chance to start up their own wireless service. What does this mean to us? Well for one, better competition. This may be just me, but I think today’s wireless service is boring. Yes, I get to travel the web from a fast network and have countless downloads coming from the sky, but something is missing. The problem is, I don’t know what. I firmly believe that if Google were to enter the wireless biz, they would answer that question. With that said, I want my gPhone already! Well, I want the Android on my Tilt anyway. If you have any thoughts on this, please post a comment.

R.I.P CompUSA………….

December 13, 2007

As a I walked through the aisles in my neighborhood CompUSA, I actually got a little sad. Yes, the customer may have sucked (an Apple guy at one store call my decision to stay away from Macs “sad”) and their prices ill matched to the competition. But regardless, this was the place for me to go and get my geek on. Anything from video cards to IDE adapters where there for my grubby hands to hold them. This feeling of bliss is gone. Off to best buy, where I will get badgered into buying a video camera with a newly acquired Best Buy card every time I want to go checkout a random computer part. On the flip side, Best Buy does have a wall of TV’s. In the end, I’m still thankful that there is a place called Newegg because shopping there was the best anyway. What does get me down, is when I was in CompUSA, some of the employees wore all black. More jobs lost, more people in a bind now, the rich just got richer.

Blue streak on the ground…

December 3, 2007

It is December, so its cold here in Colorado. One may have enough common sense NOT to ride their motorcycle due to the weather, but today was just too nice (a whole 40…I know!) So me, my buddy Nate (Superhawk 996) and Hover (Yamaha YZF600) go for a ride. I haven’t started my bike in a little over a week so my battery is dead. I throw on a little 1 amp charger, but they don’t have the patients for that. They decide it would be faster just to push start the thing. Perfect, I live on a big hill. So they start pushing me and about 50 feet later I pop the clutch. Nothing. Keep trying, every 50 feet or so and nothing. Before I know it, I’m at the bottom of the hill. Damn. I got ditched so I had to push my bike up myself, no big deal, just a lot of work. I get about have way up and decide to take a break. I put down the kick stand and start breathing in as much air as possible. About a minute goes by and one of the neighbor kids drives up to me. He gives my a weird look like I;m crazy. I fill him in on the details my situation and then he started to laugh, and as he got done I heard Nate start up his bike. Nate comes around a corner and down the hill toward us. As he started to go hard on the throttle, kicking his front end up, his rear tire locks up and his bike come out from under him. The hanus sound the bike made when it first hit the pavement was weird in itself, but as the 400 pound bike came griding to our position ready to hit the neighbors car I couldn’t believe what had happened. Twenty feet up from the bike lay Nate, still and cursing. I pick up his bike thinking the worst has happened to both him and the bike. Nate gets up and heads straight to his bike. Left mirror shattered, fairing cracked, exhaust pipe scraped, shifter broken, rear pegs grinded, blinker gone. Sound like the whole left side is gone huh? Its not bad at all really. Its the fact he laid his bike down going about 20mph and why?! I don’t know, its like I told him after, its better the way he did it then going a lot faster and in traffic. Lesson learned.

It works!

December 2, 2007

So here it is, well for me anyway. I’m typing this on my new Tilt. I had to post that last one because I had to get my email as a default on my account. The phone has been great. My worry is thing weights a ton! It definitely wants to bring my pants down! Otherwise, everything works. I have the HTC today screen plugin which is 100% better then what came on the phone. With the keyboard, well, I won’t be posting anything long with it any time soon, I need to get used to it. So until I can get out of work today, later.

Test blog

December 2, 2007

Here is my test post with my new Tilt.

This is a test

December 1, 2007

This is a test post from my at&t tilt phone. So far this has been a great mobile experience for me. 3g is a good feature The only this that bothers me is how heavy the phone is. It wants to take my pants down! I am using the monaco aluminum case with it which doesn’t help. It does protect the crap out of gthe phone. Well, i’ll be posting later tonight in full details. Later.
